# The Software Survival Record - raw data Observed 2026-09-04. Everything on https://luminory.org/research/software-survival-record/ derives from these files. - `ledger.jsonl` - the append-only, hash-chained observation ledger. One line per (arm, host, date, signal, evidence). Never edited; corrections are supersessions. - `observations.csv` - the same observations flattened for spreadsheets. - `_cohort-a-candidates.json` - Arm A: vendor domains named in Lattice network articles. - `_cohort-b-inception.json` - Arm B: Y Combinator 2025-26 batches, with YC's declared status. - `_cohort-c-unfunded.json` - Arm C: Show HN launches 2025-01 to 2026-06. - `_survival-curve-c.json` - cross-sectional share still serving by age, Arm C. - `_formation-series.json` - SEC Form D, tech companies raising disclosed capital, by quarter. - `_bfs-series.json` - US Census Business Formation Statistics by NAICS group and year. - `_trajectories.json` - SEC filing histories for every 2025-26 Form D tech filer. - `_h2-arm-c.json` - the pre-registered AI-led vs not comparison, Arm C. - `_arma-mx.json`, `_armc-mx.json` - mail-server cross-checks on dark domains. - `_redirect-split.json` - cross-domain redirects split into renames vs moves. - `_publication-figures.json` - every figure on the page, with its caveat attached. - `data.json` - metadata plus the figures, for archival deposit. Signals are structural: resolves, serves, redirects, runs mail. BLOCKED_INCONCLUSIVE and EMPTY_BODY_INCONCLUSIVE describe a bot policy, not a company, and sit outside every denominator. A serving domain is weak evidence a company is alive; a dark one is weak evidence it is not. Licence CC-BY 4.0. Cite as: Luminory, "The Software Survival Record", observed 2026-09-04.
